Indonesia: NGO documents 31 work accidents at Chinese invested factories from 2023 to 2024; cos did not respond

Drawing from media reports, in November 2024, China Labor Watch (CLW) compiled a list of work accidents and protests on safety related issues in Indonesia, notably in nickel smelting facilities.

From 2023 to 2024, there were a total of 31 accidents leading to injuries or deaths. The Business and Human Rights Centre reached out to the parent companies of the factories involved, including Jiangsu Delong Nickel Industry, Xiamen Xiangyu Group, Tsingshan Group, Dexin Steel Indonesia, CNGR Advanced Material and Hangzhou Fudong Engineering Co., Ltd. for comments. they did not respond.
