Canal+ responded to the allegations

CANAL+ pays close attention to the situation in Myanmar and the challenges faced by its population.

CANAL+ has been present in Myanmar since 2018, well before February 2021.

Our long-term commitment is focused on supporting local employees and partners, contributing to the development of the audiovisual industry, and providing audiences with access to entertainment and diverse content.

Today, CANAL+ Myanmar directly employs more than 200 Myanmar nationals and supports a broader ecosystem of producers, technicians, artists, service providers and local partners, benefiting several thousand people directly or indirectly.

As a media and entertainment company, CANAL+ Myanmar is active in channel publishing, local content production and television distribution. Since its launch, the company has produced 30 original local series and has become a major partner of Myanmar cinema, serving as the first broadcast window for 29 local films in 2026, with 34 premieres already planned for 2027…

CANAL+ does not maintain relationships with individuals or entities subject to international sanctions and operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Alongside its business activities, CANAL+ Myanmar supports local communities through long-standing CSR initiatives, including youth inclusion, gender equality and emergency assistance programmes.

More broadly, CANAL+ remains an independent company wherever it operates. CANAL+ Myanmar implements the group's duty of vigilance framework, is a signatory of the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) principles, and is included in the group's social and non-financial reporting scope.
