On 31^st January, …the Amazon Indigenous Community of Cordillera of Condor Mirador (Cascomi, for its Spanish acronym), the Pan-Amazon Ecclesial Network (REPAM) and the Regional Human Rights Advisory Foundation (INREDH) submitted a legal protection measure asking for a comprehensive reparation to 36 peasant and indigenous families evited in Tundayme in the period 2014-2015, as a result of the mining concession given in favour of Ecuacorriente SA company, in the Zamora Chinchipe Province…The action was filed against the State (its Ministries of Mining, Interior and the Environment, as well as the Mining Control and Regulation Agency [ARCOM] as well as against Ecuacorriente SA [part of Corriente Resources, joint venture of Tongling Nonferrous Metals & China Railway Construction Corporation]…This action highlights two of the main abuses of which these communities have been victims:  first, the lack of free, prior & informed consent; and, second, the abuse of the right to a decent housing.
