USA: Disney reportedly fails to respond to requests to investigate alleged labour rights violations by subcontractor Patina Group; incl. co. comment
In July 2025, restaurant workers employed by The Patina Group (part of Delaware North) employed at Walt Disney site Disney Springs have called on Walt Disney to investigate their employed for alleged violations of the company’s supply chain code of conduct.
The Patina Group operates restaurants at Disney Springs and at EPCOT.
The workers – including a migrant worker from Mexico - allege violations of freedom of expression – including the intimidation and coercion of workers to prevent them from talking about unionization – alongside allegations of sexual harassment and retaliatory dismissal.
The Patina Group told journalists that it is in full compliance with Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct. The regional director of the National Labor Relations Board issued a complaint alleging Patina Group broke federal labour law and the complaint will go to trial.
Walt Disney did not respond to the journalist’s request for comment at the time.
In January 2026, a group of local and state elected officials sent letters to Walt Disney asking it to investigate the allegations of abuse. Disney has reportedly ignored requests to comment on the calls to investigate. It did not respond to Orlando Weekly’s request for comment in response to its January reporting.
