"Federal Police open inquiry into misogynistic videos on TikTok", 11 March 2026

...The Federal Police have opened an investigation into a video trend on the social network TikTok that glorifies violence against women. In a statement, the corporation says it has received complaints against these posts.

It also requested that the platform preserve the data and remove this material. During the analysis, agents identified more videos related to the topic, which were also reported and removed.

The trend shows men simulating punches, kicks, and stabbings of women if their romantic advances are rejected.

On Monday (Mar. 9), Brazil’s Attorney-General’s Office announced it had called on the Federal Police to investigate the case.

According to the authorities, the videos originated from four TikTok profiles. The content was removed, and the creators may be charged with incitement to the crimes of femicide, threats, bodily injury, and psychological violence against women.

In a statement, TikTok said that the videos violate its community guidelines and have been removed. In addition, the platform said its moderation team is working to identify other potentially violating content on the subject...
