PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. (PTVI) is aware of the reported incident involving workers at the Indonesia Pomalaa Industrial Park (IPIP), Southeast Sulawesi.

Any form of workplace violence is unequivocally condemned. Respect for human rights, dignity, and the safety of all workers local and foreign is a non-negotiable principle that must be upheld across all business relationships connected to our operations.

The reported incident did not involve PT Kolaka Nickel Indonesia (KNI). Based on information available to PTVI, the incident occurred within a separate tenant operation located in the IPIP area.

PTVI is not the operator of IPIP. Its involvement is limited to shareholding in KNI, which leases industrial facilities within the industrial park. Operational control, including labor relations and site security, rests with the respective operating entities.

KNI operates in compliance with applicable Indonesian laws and regulations and has committed to human rights standards including non-discrimination, zero tolerance for workplace violence, and the availability of grievance mechanisms and remedies.

We respect and support the legal processes undertaken by the authorities and expect full cooperation from all parties involved.

As a shareholder of KNI, active engagement is ongoing with business partners connected to the project. This includes reinforcing human rights expectations, encouraging alignment with Indonesian law and international standards, promoting worker communication, and incidentprevention measures.
