USA: Food workers supplied to major airlines call for meaningful actions against sexual harassment, health & safety, minimum wage issues; incl. co. response & non-response

Over the past several years, five different government agencies have issued citations or complaints against Flying Food Group. These include safety violations, among them a “serious violation” for bolting shut an emergency door from the outside, violations of the minimum wage, violations of the state’s Right-of-Recall law affecting more than a dozen workers, and five public safety violations.

Multiple women have alleged they experienced sexual harassment on the job, and most recently, Flying Food Group workers filed complaints with Cal/OSHA alleging they have seen a variety of health and safety problems.

The Business and Human Rights Centre invited Flying Food Group, Air France, Lufthansa, Japan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines to respond to the allegations.
